San Gabriel Valley Computer Using Educators is a CUE affiliate with a rich history! It is the result of the merger of two CUE affiliates located in the San Gabriel Valley—East San Gabriel Valley CUE and ACT/CUE. We continue in the rich tradition of both affiliates, reaching out to public, private, and independent educators, schools and districts.
Computer-Using Educators, Inc. is a nonprofit California corporation founded in 1978. CUE's goal is to advance student achievement through technology in all disciplines and at all educational levels from preschool through college. With an active current membership of thousands of educational professionals, CUE supports many regional affiliates and Special Interest Groups. CUE Conference are California's premier educational technology events. CUE is the largest organization of this type in the west and one of the largest in the United States.
During the academic year, San Gabriel Valley Computer Using Educators has several events for members and non-members. These include our annual tech fair held the first Saturday in May. As well, SGVCUE holds three Coffee Breaks each year. These are held in October, January and March. These Saturday morning workshops incorporate curricular and technology skills while addressing standards.
This year, our annual Tech Fair will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Our Coffee Breaks will be held on on the following Saturday mornings from 9:00 until noon: October 13, January 12, and March 2. For additional information on these exciting hands-on workshops, visit the Coffee Breaks page.
The purposes of the San Gabriel Valley Computer Using Educators shall be to:
- Promote the development and growth of technology use in education
- Make a substantial contribution toward developing and providing information and materials to all interested persons
- Promote the professional growth of its members and all fellow educators
- Sustain these efforts through the continuation of a non-profit organization
- Operate as an affiliate of Computer-Using Educators, Inc.
